Position: Background and Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties: • Involves in planting, data and samples collection and other field activities; • Plant DNA/RNA Isolation; • DNA/RNA quality and quantity analysis; • DNA sequencing and PCR amplification; • Gel Electrophoresis and other cognate techniques; • Samples preparation for Next-Generation genotyping and analysis of genotypic data including linkage mapping, association studies and diversity analysis; • Supervision and training of laboratory personnel and general administration/maintenance of the laboratory; • Ensure compliance with safety regulations of the Biotechnology laboratory; • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
B.Sc /HND in Biochemistry, Biology or Molecular Biology with (2) years relevant experience. Knowledge in Bioinformatics is an added advantage.
